TESTING PEOPLE: A REHEARSAL PROCESS FOR ENSURING LAUNCH TEAM READINESS

The focus of testing in the space industry is generally on the evaluation and verification of hardware and software design and functionality. Another element of the mission success equation that must perform successfully, however, is the team of personnel who will be involved in the launch operation. The Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle (EELV) Program is employing a launch rehearsal process that will both prepare and “test” the launch team, thereby validating team readiness. This paper will summarize the baseline EELV rehearsal process.
