As the construction of the Esfahan subway has been feared to interact with fragile structures, sufficient cares have been taken in design and execution of the civil works in order to minimize the project impact on the adjacent buildings and structures. So, single track twin tunnels have been driven by employing two EPB Tunnel Boring Machines, under a proper data management and process controlling system. The main aim of the used system is to optimize the shield tunneling process by means of a systematic, knowledge based analysis of the process events on the base of the data monitoring processing. For the implementation of the real time process controlling, specific software is used for the visualization, process controlling and analysis of the machine-ground interaction data. The software allows to perform the comparison between ZAFA's calculation parameters and real values in real time and to visualize to all the interested parties.
