MORPHOLOGICAL STUDY OF TRICHOPHYTON RUBRUM AFTER EXPOSURE TO TURMERIC OIL

摘要

From light microscopic and electron microscopic studies, we found that turmeric oil (at dilution 1:16 which showed the significant alterations) possessed antifungal activity against Trichophyton rubrum. The effects of turmeric oil could produce many chlamydoconidia, swollen of cell walls, alterations of organelles and numerous autophagic vacuoles within cytoplasm. Some fungal cells showed broken cell walls and wrinkle.
