摘要

Cisco Systems founded the Networking Academy Program with n the "Initiative D21" ― framework in an effort to fill the shortage of trained IT-specialists. The focus of the program lies on training students to certify as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). This e-learning model delivers web-based educational content, online testing, student performance tracking, and instructor training and support. Since 1999, Cisco Systems offers the content in form of a four-semester course (ca. 300 hours) in Germany. The course content teaches how to design, build and maintain computer networks, it consists of an online multimedia curriculum and laboratory exercises in which students work on actual networks.
