The 3D Whole Body Anthropometry Data Bank in Taiwan

摘要

It had been realized that anthropometric data could improve the quality of product design and usability, workstation and work place planning,and even laborer safety in certain environment.Establishing a national anthropometry database for the citizen is now undoublfully a necessity. This study has devoted to establish a Taiwanese 3D anthropometry data bank and its Data Base Management System(DBMS) for numerous possible industrial and research applications. This study uses a 3D whole body laser scanning system to collect digitized body shape. The scanned human body geometric data are then categorized and stored in the date bank for data mining and further sharing. This DBMS is designed for providing effective information for medical/health management and designed related applications,researches,and practices.
