This paper discusses a practical detective and fuzzy control method, which realizes the whole automation in Double Glow Surface Alloying Process, also called Xu-Tec/Xu-Loy Process. Especially, it describes the background, general principle, control plan and conclusions in detail. The method has been successfully used in a computer control system of the demonstration production line of Xu-Tec hand hacksaw blade that has set up in Taiyuan University of Technology under the support of China's 863 High Technology Research and Development Program. It plays an important role in improving product's properties, increasing efficiency and reducing manpower, etc.
