摘要

A theoretical consideration of length and density changes caused by isothermal and non-isothermal relaxation heat treatment of amorphous solids is carried out in the framework of the Free Volume Model (FVM). The model predictions have been proved experimentally by using bulk Pd_(40)Cu_(30)Ni_(10)P_(20) amorphous metallic alloy as an example. For a first time it has been shown that the density changes as a function of the isothermal heat treatment conditions below and in the close proximity to the glass transition temperature T_g can be well described with the derived FVM model equations.
