Oxidation and corrosion of carbon-containing castables

摘要

Ways to improve the oxidation and the corrosion resistance of carbon-containing castables are presented. Results, from laboratory-made samples as well as from samll scale in-plant trials, are considered. Improvements achieved by incorporating the graphite as micropellets rather than as-received flakes are documented, for both magnesia-alumina-carbon and alumina-magnesia-carbon mixes.
