PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating the corrosion resistance of a carbon-containing refractory material in such a state that the oxidation of carbon contained in the refractory material at the time of heating is prevented.;SOLUTION: In the method for evaluating the corrosion resistance of the carbon-containing refractory material, a protective plate 2 is interposed between a heating source and the carbon-containing refractor material 1 to heat the refractory material indirectly by oxygen-containing gas and, thereafter, slag and/or molten iron is inserted in a refractory container and the corrosion resistance of the carbon-containing refractor material is evaluated from the worn state of the refractory container after the elapse of a predetermined time.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
