PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of evaluating the corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance and oxidation resistance of a carbon-containing refractory material with respect to slag or molten iron with high precision.;SOLUTION: The carbon-containing refractory material allowed to line the inside of a rotary erosion furnace is raised in temperature by an indirect heating method employing a radiant tube to suppress the wear of the carbon-containing refractory material due to oxidation during heating. Further, the carbon-containing refractory material can be uniformly heated by the heating method employing the radiant tube. By this method, the corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance and oxidation resistance of the carbon-containing refractory material can be evaluated with high precision.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
