GLOBALIZATION OF TOXICOLOGIC PATHOLOGY -CURRENT STATE AND FUTURE NEEDS

In the era of modern medicine, North America and Western Europe have been the primary source of biopharmaceutical research and development and have also encompassed the major markets for these products. Toxicologic pathology has played a well-definedrole in drug development in these regions and the qualifications for toxicologic pathologists have been well-established. Over the last 10 years, biopharmaceutical R&D outside North America and Europe has taken on new and growing proportions in Asia. The effect of this global expansion is having a profound effect on drug development and toxicologic pathology.
