Detection of rotavirus in children with acute gastroenteritis.

摘要

Rotavirus has been proved to be the major pathogen accounting for diarrhea in infants and children worldwide. This survye covers 1939 infants and children with acute gastroenteritis (diarrhea) in 18 provinces and cities of China. Stool specimens collected from 1939 children with diarrhea and 115 children without diarrhea were examined by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PaGE), enzyme linked immuno sorbent assay (ELISA), and bacterial cultures.
