In this article, the application of stock flocculation detecting method on floc characteristics of reed stock with different retention systems is studied. At first, the effect of different retention systems on retention and drainage of the stock using Dynamic Drainage Jar and the Pulmac Permeability Tester is discussed, then the stock floes with different retention aids are detected by stock flocculation detecting system, and the effect of different retention systems on stock flocculation is analyzed by measuring the area and intensity of stock floes. At last, the relation between stock flocculation and paper formation measured by the image analyzing system is discussed.
