摘要

The evaluation of teaching methods and courseware is a very important issue in CAI. Methods that Sakamoto has reported only involve how to obtain data for evaluating courseware, describing in particular the actual questionnaire based on data gathered after a class. [1] Human teachers recognize students' learning concentration and achievement by measuring the behavior and changing facial expressions of students during class. In order to establish a method of evaluation of CAI courseware, it is desirable that the system observes the student behavior during learning. Our approach is to measure the student's eye direction identified by the pupils. That is, when a student makes an effort to understand what a teacher says, the student's face and eyes are looking directly ahead to the teacher (or courseware screen display). Thus we propose a method of observing students' behavior for gathering courseware evaluation parameters in this paper.
