Reducing the Length of Index Terms in a High Speed Indexing System

摘要

As the amount of documents grows larger, the variable length of index terms causes troubles when the developers are to design the storage module of a high speed indexing system. This paper presents a method to solve the "length" problem of the index terms. The basic idea is to adopt a hash function to transform the terms of variable lengths into a fixed length, hashed values that are to be use instead of the terms.
