Authors have developed the structural controlling device for the high-rise building that shows the complex response to the wind disturbance due to its unique structural design. This device is the typical hybrid mass damper and characterized withthe mechanism of the support of tuned mass of which inertial force controls the structural response, and the mechanism of the mass-driving portion. For the supporting mechanism of the tuned mass, the gear-type pendulum was applied instead of the pendulumof usual type. This mechanism is able to lengthen the period of mass tuning much longer than the usual one with much fewer space. For the driving portion, the electric linear actuator mechanism was applied. The driving force is generated as theelectromagnetic force which works between the mechanically separated surface so that it enables the device to work much more sensitively with much less mechanical noise. The function test of the practical model was carried out in the experiment tank andit was confirmed that the device is able to be operated normally in the frequency band from 0 to 5Hz. The performance test on the practical building was also carried out and the performance of structural control was confirmed.
