Transport planning for a better environment: three case studies in portugal

摘要

During the last few years in Portugal, the development of several projects of new transport systems in medium size cities can be obsered. One of the main goals of these projects concerns the promotion of a modal split more faviourable to public transport and walking modes. Some of these projects have already reached the phase of implementation and it is now possible to analyse some of its results. Others, are still object of viability studies but they allow us to conclude some of the positive impacts to expect: the improvement of public transport system and also urban environment where they will be implemented.
