FOOD AND BEVERAGE CAN MANUFACTURE BY SOUDRONIC WELDING TECHNOLOGY

Development of the first semi-automatic welding machine, based on the copper wire electrode technology for the processing of tinplate, was achieved in 1959. The obtainable welding speed rate of 10 m/min was for those times quite revolutionary. After passing through several improvements the development of the Superwima welding procedure has taken place which allows machines, provided with this system, to perform welding at speeds up to 55 metres per minute at a maximum output of 450 bodies per minute.The Soudronic wire we/ding system enables the processing of tinplate, chrome plate, sheet iron as well as of special sheet material. Due to the most compact design, Soudronic automatic welding machines can be easily incorporated in every three-piece can line. Approximately 70% of all our high speed automatic machines are provided for food, beverage or beer can making. Welded food and beverage cans are lead free. Compared with traditional procedures material savings up to 5%, depending on body diameters can be achieved with this system. Joint overlap ranges from 03 to 0-5 mm only, depending on the machine type.
