Esprit-social network: An internal collaborative platform for the students of ESPRIT

摘要

The aim of this paper is to present a collaborative social platform developed as a research project to enhance serious collaboration between the students of ESPRIT (School of Engineering, Tunis, Tunisia). The platform focuses on automating the creation of opportunistic collaboration between students, based on the type of the tasks conducted (content creation, project realization, problem resolution???), the skills required, availability, historical activities, cross user evaluations. The major motivations of developing an internal social network are: the increasing adoption of social media by instructors and students in supporting their educational communications, negative assumption about the public social network's impact on productivities and on the privacy of personal data, the use of social media to exchange information with less interest to the collaborative problem solving concept. The application has been developed using the symfony2 framework for creating web applications.
