摘要

The hypothesis that individual affect is related to information was partially supported in this research. Through the use of standardized instruments measuring emotional intelligence and information literacy, we observed a positive relationship between EI and IL scores. This significant relationship between EI and IL suggests areas of possible focus in order to better promote IL abilities. Knowledge of and attention to EI abilities in individuals, identification of situations in which EI abilities may be stressed, and techniques for improving EI abilities all present possible high impact facets that librarians can include in the greater effort of information literacy instruction.
