Based on the statistical data on a thermal power enterprise's coal suppliers, this study chooses the entropy TOPSIS evaluation method to make a comprehensive evaluation on these suppliers. Relevant evaluation indexes include coal quantity, contract fulfillment rate, calorific value, sulfur portion and incoming unit price. It is found that the coal quantity and the calorific value are the most important factors influencing the supplier's quality. Supplier optimization is conducted on the basis of the evaluation results. The optimization results show that purchasing cost is the lowest when choosing suppliers whose relative proximity are higher and thus making centralized procurement.
