Experimental investigation is carried out to determine the collisional quenching rate coefficients of metastable nitrogen molecules N_2(A~3∑_u~+) by formaldehyde (CH_2O) using a theoretical procedure that takes into account the reflection of metastables at the boundary. The obtained collisional quenching rate coefficient of N_2(A~3∑_u~+) by CH_2O is (4.7±0.4)×10~(-12) cm~3/s.
