Initiated and executed under the direction of the International Joint Commission(IJC), the Lake Ontario St. Lawrence River Study (LOSLR) is an intensive five-year bi-nationalinvestigation to review existing criteria and assess alternate regulation plans controlling the water levelsand river flows on the Lake Ontario - St. Lawrence River system.Coastal Technical Working Group activities (CTWG) are focused on the coastal zone response tothese various water level scenarios and evaluation of potential impacts to riparians and effects onshoreline property interests. The assessment covers over 4,000 km of shoreline on the Lake and UpperRiver and includes definition of benefits or damages associated with shoreline change, coastal flooding,impacts to existing shore protection, as well as access to beaches and other cross-shore processes.An overview of the analysis methodology is presented and interim results are discussed.
