摘要

Equations describing six degrees-of-freedom motion are developed and applied for golf ball flight dynamics. A selected set of axes and rotation sequences are chosen to establish a non-rotating body axis system aligned with the spinning axis. Aerodynamic coefficient modeling for lift, drag and spin-down moment is established taking advantage of this axis definition. An additional moment term, ascribed to surface anomaly, is evaluated for its impact on the resulting trajectory. The equations developed for golf balls are also applicable to other round spinning balls. Equations of motion for other sports objects including projectiles and discs are summarized for selected equations.
