The device has a laser diode (4) with control electronics (5), which provide an overload protection for the laser diode and allows the adjustment of the light intensity by using a variable resistor (6). Inclination sensors (3) are arranged as protective mechanism between an on-off switch (1) and the control electronics, and an operating angle is determined in a housing depending upon the arrangement of the sensors. A battery (8) is provided with a connection for a battery charger (7).
