Chinese ink-wash painting, especially Nanzong Painting, created the aesthetic ideals of Preference for Charm and Preference for Simplicity with its exclusive glamour, which has a profound impact on later art and contemporary designers in their thoughts and styles. They are creating a peculiar characteristic of Chinese modern graphic design by using Nanzong Painting’s brush stroke techniques and its ink charm for reference and striving to approach Nanzong Painting’s aesthetic ideals.
