This paper proposes a tool for optimization of sustainable development programs, such as the creation of organic gardens and green roofs. The biomimetic prototype is inspired by the plant phisioanatomy and morphology of the cactus Pachycereus Pecten-Aboriginum and its system of dew condensation. Proposed a design and construction thereof is performed using glass as main material. The prototype has an area of 0.586 m ^ 2. Water uptake tests were performed for six nights during the months of March and May in Cuauhtémoc, street Regina # 24 in Mexico City. Only there was condensation of water in a two-day period in the month of May. Furthermore a mathematical model indicating the amount of water collected as a function of the temperature of the prototype and the dew point temperature.
