As described in this paper, we present a new simple design method forceramic pressure-tight housings. It consists of ceramic cylinders, metalcaps, and metal couplings between ceramic cylinders. We took the lowcoefficient of friction between the ceramic cylinders and metal capsinto consideration, and confirmed that it reduces the stresses on theceramic cylinder and consequently heightens the pressure resistance.We confirmed its validity through a series of finite element analysis(FEA). We also made a small pressure-tight housing using aluminaceramic cylinders and aluminum alloy caps, and confirmed its pressureresistance by hydraulic pressure tests.
