Tilt Rotor UAV of KARI that has beendeveloped for land operation, is going toexpand its mission to oceanic operation withshipboard takeoff and landing. In oceanicoperation, UAV suffers from severe conditionssuch as salty, windy and moist, etc. The landingpoint is also not stationary with ship movementby sea wave and is located under air wake,which make the landing of UAV difficult.Therefore the oceanic operation of tilt rotorUAV has to be analyzed and evaluated throughsimulation and test under each condition – shipmovement from sea wave, non-uniform wind dueto air wake, etc. KARI has conducted themodelling and simulation of ship movementfrom sea wave and analyzed the effect of airwake at approach and landing of UAV. Thispaper introduces the configuration of UAVsystems for flight test and gives the flight testresult for shipboard landing with ship operationenvironment on the land.
