An understanding of globalization and its impacts is essential for business students today in order toprepare them to do business in an international and culturally diverse workplace. Consequently mostbusiness schools are looking for ways to prepare their graduates with these attributes. A keychallenge is how to develop international and cross-cultural perspectives, understandings andcapabilities among students. At Victoria Business School, we know that we have extensive culturaland ethnic diversity among students and staff, so we decided to recognise and use this existingdiversity as a classroom resource. This paper provides the background literature and conceptualmodel that underpinned these developments and outlines the surveys and teaching and learninginterventions undertaken to date, and planned future developments.
