In recent years, curb parking has been widely used in the central business district because of convenience and short walking distance. However, curb parking reduces the width of road, and takes over non-motor pavement. This causes the mixture of vehicles, bicyclists and pedestrians resulting in traffic chaos and the delays of parking arrival and departure. This paper, taking the Central Business District (CBD) of Hohhot as an example, investigates the impacts of curb parking under the condition of high traffic volume related to the normal dynamic of traffic flow. According to the statistics of the survey, an acceleration-deceleration model and a car-following model are proposed, forming a combined model for the impact of dynamic traffic flow caused by curb parking.
