Module degradation rates in different climatic zones are investigated in this work. Three outdoor PV systems are installed in different places in China. Modules are uninstalled and moved to a local laboratory to do the STC I-V measurements every three months. Degradation rates differ due to the different climatic features, and also the module types. The environment factors affect degradation rate in varying degrees. Glass-backsheet module is sensitive to UV, while dual-glass module is sensitive to a damp heat environment. Dual-glass module has a minor degradation rate than glass-backsheet module in the three sites. Energy output of module is affected by the power degradation. Electricity/power gain is related to the less degradation rate.
