Using Learning Styles to Personalize Web-based Learning System

摘要

Many researchers believe that Web-based learning system shouldn't be designed only according to the teacher's style, but must take into consideration all kinds of student's learning styles. This paper presents the method of matching instructional strategies with the student's learning style, establishes relationship through four aspects: content design, media chosen, unit assembling and course presentation, to faciliate and personalize the student's learning process. A proposed process of evaluating student's learning styles is also given in this paper. Finally, we embed the method in a practical Web-based learning system Sakai; student can evaluate learning styles and the system presents personalized courses to match their learning styles.
