This paper describes a release on commanddelivery system. The technology uses(modified) natural polymers such aspolysaccharides and proteins which arecross linked into a three dimensionalnetwork. This network is able to contain anactive ingredient until through the action ofoutside stimuli the network’s integrity isdismantled. In the past two years newgenerations of this system have beendeveloped, namely coating of the particlesusing food grade ingredients andcombination with inorganic material. Thesetwo new developments have broadened thescope of application of this release ondemand technology.
