摘要

The relationships between carotenoid accumulation and the expression of carotenoid biosynthetic genes under different light qualities (white, red and blue light) and during a sub-cultural cycle (10d, 20d, 30d) were investigated in citrus callus of Red Marsh (Citrus paradisi Macf. ). We reported that red light illumination in callus led to an increase of carotenoid content, and a decrease of expression of carotenogenic genes. The content of carotenoids decreased during sub-cultural cycle, while the expression of carotenogenic genes increased rapidly. Taken together, these results suggest that the concentration and gene expression of carotenoids in citrus callus could be largely affected by light quality and calli growth vigor.
