Characterization of Single Phase Polygoum Tinctoria with Nano-Size Morphology

Indigo, as a blue pigment, has been known as oneof the oldest natural dyes. Generally, natural dyeshave moderate colors and are environmentallyfriendly, while harmful mordants must be used forfixing them and obtaining a full color range onfabrics and it is very hard to improve K/S of thedyeing and mordanting. In this study, single phasepolygonum tinctroium dye was prepared using thedorr agitator and lyophilization and physicochemicalcharacterization of polygoum tinctoria dye substancewas investigated by various methods. Then,polygoum tinctoria dyeing was carried out variousfabrics according to the various dyeing conditions.And then the values of K/S according to dyeingconditions were investigated by colorimeter. Also weinvestigated to dye fastness against the light,washing, perspiration and friction.
