Students completing an introductory course in business statistics ought to leave the course withan understanding of fundamental concepts, with an ability to appropriately apply certaintechniques to business situations, and realistic convictions about the utility of statistical thinkingand their expertise in using it. One challenge for teachers of such a course is selecting activities, assignments, and cases that are real, important, engaging, and accessible to students. This paperpresents some ways that instructors can fruitfully pursue the course goals cited above by buildingon students' familiarity with the work of Orville and Wilbur Wright.
