Alenia Spazio S.p.A. completed during the first half of 2000, the in orbit delivery of thenominal constellation of the Globalstar program (52 S/C's).The experience gained during the three years of high rate production is now an unique knowhow owned by the company.During last years Alenia Spazio has been also involved in several GEO satellite programs(Italsat, Artemis, Sicral, Atlantic Bird etc.), where the ‘one of the kind' AIT approach hasbeen implemented consolidating the company expertise in this field.ALS is now making a big effort to merge these two different experiences with the porpoise ofidentifying the key tools able to drive programs to success.This process foresees two main steps: the first is to identify, in the past experiences,parameters able to increase AIT effectiveness, the second is to apply this retained lesson inthe next future challenges.This is leading to carry on several actions on AIT organization to improve the efficiency ofAIT resources and processes.This paper presents the main results of this effectiveness analysis describing the AIT drivingtools: industrial engineering, database, electronic systems, training courses, planning,concurrent engineering, working groups, team resources exchange.The recipe is to turn the lesson learned into a new mentality shared by the AIT resources bothin terms of team concurrency and personal commitment to be applied to any kind of spaceproduct production.Alenia Spazio is ready to go through the next future programs. The new generation ofGlobalstar program (8 satellites will be produced during this year) is under production;Cosmo Skymed constellation (4 S/C's), Radarsat-2, SAR 2000, PRIMA are programs nowgoing in C/D phase.
