Quantified risk assessment in hydropower plants

There are many dangerous situations when work is performed in a power production facility. Every year people working with operation and maintenance are killed or injured. There are also large economical risks making ownership and management uncertain and difficult. common methods for risk assessment are often rather expensive and will not be used in hydropower stations because of its relatively small size and low profit. To overcome this, Vattenfall has adjusted some well-known risk assessment methods and used experiences from several years of hydropower production, making it possible to perform quantitative risk assessment in a less expensive way.
