The University of Maryland has been rigorous in its efforts to inspire faculty to use technology to transform their curriculum and to instruct them in the technologies appropriate to supporting or enhancing teaching and learning goals.Supporting hundreds of faculty (of varying degrees of technical savvy) has forced overextended and understaffed technical support units to look for alternative approaches to providing the on-site and behind-the-scenes help that faculty need and expect.
