INNOVATIVE LANDMINE NEUTRALIZATION

CIL/EVANinc and the Canadian Explosives Research Laboratory of the Government of Canada have evolved a concept developed by Research Energy of Ohio, into a landmine neutralization system that is the most innovative to date. Rather than use the technique of sympathetic detonation, the new system is totally non explosive and uses the mixture of metallic powder to breach the mine casing. The mixture which is the "engine" of the system is ignited by a plasma, energy generator patented as an ARC STAR initiator. This system is currently being commercialized to allow a packaged product that is simple to use with minimal training-two important aspects of current world hot spots needing clean up.
