Pern-Regional Energy plan of Alto Tras-os-Montes and Douro Region, Portugal

摘要

This region is a Portuguese region with low energy consumptoin, but nevertheless with high energy production resources has a elelctircity consumption per capit of 0,9 MWh, well below the average portuguese consumption of about 2,3 MWh. Renewable energies can play a much more important role in this region and, we feel that this knowledge must be available to other researcheers as well as to ptential investors. The region is Alto Tras-os-Montes nad Douro, with a population of about half a million people, with an rea of 12 235 km~2 and is the second least populated portuguese region. Its energy resources arethen described. There is in the region a great potenital in the field of renewable energies, namely forest biomass, geothermal, solar energy, wind energy and water energy, specially in small dams. As consequence ofthis a regional energy Plan was created ,located in Vila Real, the most importnt city of this Region. Its main objective is a better energy use and to take advnatageof endogeneous energy resources. Others works will be presented.
