The authors investigated the feasibility of illuminating a skynarea above the remote station at the end of the path (endpath) in meteornscatter systems. Some of the important characteristics and applicationsnof endpath illumination were identified. Comprehensive, long-termncomparisons between predicted and measured midpath and endpath dailyncycles of meteors show that endpath daily variations are greater thannmidpath variations. The reasons for this observation are given, and theneffect of this observation on communication system design is considered
