摘要

Performance-based seismic engineering is now an establishedtechnology for buildings that can be adopted for offshore platforms.The development of performance-based seismic design criteria andapplicability of this method for fixed offshore platforms was discussedin this paper. An analytical example including the inelastic time historyanalysis was presented. Structural performance and performance basedassessment results was then compared with API and ISOrecommendations. The results demonstrated that the performance basedassessment is more reliable and may improve the integrity of the designto resist earthquakes. The results also indicated a better match betweenISO standard and performance based design for the example platform.
