BaTiO_3-based dielectrics doped with acceptor type ions such as Ca~(2+), Mg~(2+), Fe~(3+), Mn~(2+) and Zn~(2+) were co-fired with nickel electrode in reducing atmosphere. When the molar ratio (BaO+CaO)/(TiO_2+ZrO_2) was slightly higher than one, the reduction of dielectric was inhibited by these acceptor type ions and kept high permittivity of up to 15000 and high resistivity of up to 10~(12)Ωcm, The solubility of these acceptors in different reducing atmosphere and their regular effects on the Properties of dielectric were discussed. The electrical properties of such dielectric were promising for Ni-electrode multilayer ceramic capacitors.
