Application of Multimedia in the PE Instruction of Special Schools in Hebei Province and Influencing Factors

Author of this paper made a survey on the 45 special schools in 10 districts by literatures, questionnaires and mathematical statistics and results show that the multimedia teaching is far from enough in PE instruction: though multimedia rooms are equipped, only a very small proportion of PE teachers give their lectures in them every term. Many factors affect the application of multimedia in PE instruction. Objectively, lack of multimedia rooms or insufficient amount restricts the use of one third of PE teachers. Among 55 special schools, only 35 schools are equipped with multimedia rooms, occupying 63.6%, and the other 36.4% of schools don't have any multimedia room at all; subjectively, the school leaders and PE teachers of special schools don't have enough understanding about the role of multimedia and their awareness must be improved; lack of the skills of operation or courseware fabrication is another important factor to restrict the application of multimedia teaching in PE teachers.
