The computerised teaching and learning appliance for the number range 1-100 is a versatile, effective teaching and learning means with a unique range of functions, which combines in a single appliance the demonstration possibilities of known calculating machines and demonstrates the numerical straight line. To do this, use is made of a moving frame which uses inscribed counting units in 4 possible colour settings which can be moved in 3 rows and indicates the decimal system. Possible uses in mathematical instruction: Number formation, counting exercises, number range expansion, number relations, carrying tens, all forms of basic computation as advances on the numerical straight line, formation of tables and possibility of self-monitoring. This appliance can also be produced as a learning means in the manner of a toy, suitable for children, for the number range 1-20. With appropriate modifications it can be used as a table-top appliance for those with learning and seeing difficulties and the blind. It is always ready for use and ideally equipped for the most varied requirements, as well as enhancing performance and developing pleasure in learning.
