The task of descriptive geometry is to impart knowledge on the fundamentals for working with graphical representations (2D) which are relevant for geometry as well as for spatial skills training. Multi-view sketching is thereby a most important subject. As central projection method for construction plans, it deals with the base tasks, and trains the spatial thinking. AutoCAD disposes of commands which are able to set up relevant image settings and coordinate systems as well as to make understandable some of the basic constructions of descriptive geometry working on 3D objects. To deal with complex problems within a course on DG, profound basic knowledge about working with CAD programs have to be established. Two methodical approaches can be distinguished. One is the "Meta-Model" approach. Hereby a 3D object together with 2D drawings is made as the result of appropriate projections. The other one is the "Transfer exercise" approach where constructions from descriptive geometry should be adapted without the use of 2D constructions as a detour.
