Inteligent Peripheral in Advanced Intelligent Network (AIN IP) is the system that manipulates multimedia for supporting user oriented services and plays a kernel of role for successfully performing AIN services. AIN Ip which stores and manages multimedia data is a multimedia application system for special usage that can be discriminated fro mgeneral purpose multimedia application system in the various aspects. The database model for the AIN IP is a very important reserach issue for the efficient operability of the AIN services. However, very little progress has been achieved in thsi reserach area. The purpose of this paper is to devise an optimal database model for AIN IP and to analyze the performance of the proposed sytem thorugh rigorous performance tests using actual DBMSs.
