Study on Characteristics of Marine Traffic by Data Mining Theory

摘要

Data mining (Knowledge Discovery) is the process of analyzing huge data from different perspectives and abstracting useful information. The technology and theory of Data Ming play an important role in analysis of the huge AIS data broadcast by ships and collected into database to find out the characteristics of marine traffic. In this paper, a novel analysis method of marine traffic situations was developed using the theory and technology of data mining. This analysis method mined the course change rate and speed change rate from three perspectives (space, time and distribution) and applied to analysis of marine traffic situations of Xiamen main fairway and proved to be practical and useful. The knowledge mined from this analysis method can provide advices for marine traffic decision-making and management of marine authorities.
